Introducing Yourself with Correct Grammar and Expessions

When students of Elementary English want to introduce themselves they often have problems finding the words and using correct grammar. As you can see from the example below they not only have problems with vocabulary but also grammar. Look at one of students' work below:

Hi Lets introduce my self my name is Lely Puspita. you can call name is Lele or Pussy. I was born on 20 December 1996. I am live in Perumnas Bumi Ayu Number 4 Cirebon. I am live with my parent.

 I am have one older brother and younger sister. Their name is older brother is Rudy and younger sister is Selly.My Father is Jono My mother is Inez.

I am studied at Atlantis Kindergarden . After than Elementary School for Six years. And Than Bandung Junior High School, the next Bandung Senior High school. I am studying Nurse academy at  Politeknik Kemenkes Tasikmalay.

My hobbies reading , singing and listen music.My favorite food Meat ball,

The correct sentences should be: 

"Hi, let me introduce my self. My name is Lely Puspita. You can call me Lele or Pussy. I was born on December 20, 1996. I live at Perumnas Bumi Ayu Number 4 Cirebon. I live with my parents.

 I have one older brother and one younger sister. My bother's name is Rudy and my younger sister is Selly. My Father is Jono My mother is Inez.

I studied at Atlantis Kindergarten, after that I went to Elementary School Babadan for Six years. And then I went to Badung Junior High School. Next I went to Bandung Senior High school. I am studying Nursing at  Politeknik Kemenkes Tasikmalaya now.

My hobbies are reading , singing and listening to  music. My favorite food is meat balls or bakso.

As you can see from the sample above the problems are in grammar and word choice. If you like to improve your grammar you can learn from a good grammar book such as the one written by Betty Schramfer Azar titled Fundamentals of English Grammar published by Longman. This book has a great way in teaching grammar because the grammar is used in context.
